Dimension reduction for anisotropic Bose-Einstein condensates in the strong interaction regime

We study dimension reduction for the three-dimensional Gross-Pitaevskii equation modeling Bose-Einstein condensation. In contrast with the existing literature on this topic, we do not assume here that the gas is in a weak interaction regime. This amounts to considering simultaneously the strong confinement limit and the semi-classical limit for the solution of the problem. I will show both theoretical and numerical results. This is a joint work with Weizhu Bao and Loïc Le Treust.
