Learning physics from observation

Abstract:

A significant amount of physical (including but not limited to social, biological and economical) phenomenon can be explained using the equation F(x) = y. As observational data becomes abundant and the theory of machine learning has matured, we propose several different approaches to learn the physical laws, physical variables, and physical statistics from observation of physical systems. Algorithms, numerical examples and theories will be shown to accompany our findings.
